Happy 2024! We’ve got some exciting news to kick off the year!
Announcing our first special event outside of the festival scope & programme - ASTRA, a remarkable story about the unbreakable spirit of Gunārs Astra, will screen on Saturday 27 January at @richmix with the film’s director Liene Laviņa in attendance.
Astra was a Soviet dissident who acted fearlessly against the backdrop of the oppressive regime, being convinced that Latvia would one day be free again from the Soviet occupation.
As the only cinema screening in the UK, this is a truly unique opportunity to witness the story of Astra on the big screen.
The screening will be followed by Q&A with the film’s director Liene Laviņa.
